In a recent correspondence that I received from Humber College president, Dr.R.A.Gordon, I was truly honoured that he referred to me as a “great ambassador” of Humber College.
It is in fact my reality! In 2004 when I won the JUNO AWARD for Best Instrumental Album of the Year it was almost 25 years to the day that I had received Humbers very first Woodwind Instrumentalist Scholarship/award. That award ensured that I could continue my studies that next year which was in fact the year that my career started to take off. Humber College was the catalyst for both my personal and professional success.
It was there that I was introduced to my most respected and accomplished mentors. It was in its corridors where I met Joni, my wonderful wife of 28 years, as well as my closest friend and musical partner John MacLeod. My oldest daughter Julie proudly displays three Presidents Letters from the desk of Dr. R.A. Gordon, for outstanding academic achievements and several members of The Champagne Symphony are either alumni or current professors of Humbers Music Program. So it is with the utmost respect and thanks that I wear the banner for Humber College proudly!
